Well, I might disagree with you, esp. when you say "Geordie's comfort 
zone is chug chug chords and lazy power riffs, all heavy music guitar 
players lacking creative inspiration revert to this form of delivery" - 
about lazy players reverting to power chords and chug chords. The genius 
of some bands, like the Ramones, is their simplicity, and how it is used 
in a novel way. But I don't think Geordie is like this. Geordie is 
unusual to me in tahat he can play bone headed dugga dugga metal ("Total 
Invasion," which I love) but also do cool Middle eastern influenced 
stuff ("Tabazan"), plus the post-punk chiming type suff you hear a lot 
of on _Revelations_.

There is a lot of hardcore punk, etc., that is basically power chords 
sliding up and down the fret board, but that isn't necessarily a sign of 
weakness to me. And skilled musicians' ears listen to things differently 
than the average rank and file listener. When I heard "Blitzkrieg Bop" 
the first time as a ten I imagined these were the most burly and coolest 
guitarists around. When I learned to play guitar myself, the mystique 
went away, and in a sense it became less "powerful" to me. But to your 
average listener, those surly, basic power chords are like sounds from 
heaven (or hell), dependent upon the melody and how they are used inc 
ombination with other aspects of the song, of course.

Geordie seems to have a good sense of all this, even if only 
intuitively, which is why he's one of my fave guitar players - he can 
maneuver so easily and deftly, nonchalantly, through so many different 
styles. Jaz is lucky he ran into him. :)
