"Tabazan" and "Lust Almighty" spring to mind.

Yeah, they made a track called "Drug". KJ also made reference to drugs in "Prozac people", which is self explanatory.

Killing Joke? Yes.

Anyone know of any DRUG references in Killing Joke lyrics, no matter how subtle? I can't remember any.

OK...
come to think of it, there are quite a few food refernences in KJ lyrics & titles.

The first that spring to my mind are...

"The food (runs short and then the money talks)"
"Butcher"
"Chop chop"
"Land of Milk & Honey"
"Feast (of blaze)"

but then I can't be bothered any longer, somebodey else perhaps?

(yes, I'm bored)

This covers album is a really bad idea. The only bands/artists fit to cover killing joke are godflesh/october file/prong/tribazik & even and how about a full cocteau twins cover of outside the gate!??-This is still good music even if it isn't killing joke.

I've often thought how about a killing joke cover of Outside The Gate?Updated minus Supertramp?Obsession is a good track & about 3 others..

I'd like to hear killing joke covering endgames & whose truth is your truth by godflesh.I'd also like to know how godflesh turned into shit -honestly-apart from the anthemic walk on water all the jesu stuff is crap by comparison. Also I'd like to hear Caprice by Prong covered-a masterpiece.

So in summary we want more kiling joke more geordie & not covers. The first batch of demos (2008) by Geordie prompted my mosh m8 Darren to say killing joke have been holding Geordie back. There's 3 tracks of the first bunch of demos that are truly outstanding-there down now but i think it was 3 & 8 -i had to record them from my mobile-come on Geordie get them out whether its a solo or kj!

So who is goin to by a Killing Joke Covers album-not kj fans as they know it can't be improved apart from requiem-God only knows why people

Does anyone

Also Natacha Atlas, Diamanda Galas', Bjork, the chick from Republica,?Lisa Gerrard, Dolores?P'Riordan(w/an octave pedal to boot!), Chrissie Hynde, Annie Lennox, Siouxsie, Lena Lovich(sp?),?or for some serious contrast, Leigh Nash. Precisely because?many of my suggestions don't seem feasible is why I'd like to see them tried = creative results surely guaranteed.

No.? I'd want to hear Geordie doing the biz.

And - going back to my comment about female vocalists covering the Joke - what about Kate Bush?? She's reputedly a big Joke fan, and Youth worked with her back in the mid-eighties.

KJ covering some Led Zep would be interesting, e.g. No Quarter.

Not that I'm an especially big Zep fan, but I think their music would work quite well in that it would show off the talents of the Joke pretty well...

Well, I figured as much (the flat Foos and their ilk doing KJ covers).? However, in the dreamland that is the Gathering, I venture a?question......what song would you like Killing Joke to rip to freaking threads?? Wouldn't this?appeal to the actual fan of Killing Joke more than assholes with money doing shitty things to their great songs?? This could be a limited edition, signed and numbered.....shit, even have fans vote on what songs they want "covered" by Killing Joke on the official website........who on this list wouldn't be buying that?
?
I can't believe I am frustrated about my beloved Killing Joke!?

I certainly hope it is NOT Killing Joke doing covers.? One band paying "homage" to their favorite artists that "inspired them" reek of contractual obligations and writers block AND laziness.

I would assume it is other bands doing KJ covers; to be paid with the wads being thrown at them by universal. Typical PR stunt, to 'broaden' their listenership. Let's hope?the monies are non-recoupable..

I have to say, this is a poorly worded item. Is the album to be a compilation of bands covering KJ tunes? Or is it KJ covering other bands? Seems awfully dubious.

Besides, as long as copies of Outside The Gate and Democracy remain on the

I've never been a big fan of the day-glo, Punkcore Records, 'colorful'
style of punk dress. But that's just me, and I am too old now to really
care much about that stuff....

Also, the girl on the right here is sporting punk fashion?
