Point taken -- and given the town I'm from, I know all about that. For any city to know where it's going, some structures from the past should remain. So, while the architecture wasn't "pretty," I certainly can respect its historical perspective.

It definitely seemed as if city leaders and developers were in a big hurry to erase the past.
Given how hideous most of the drab, communist-era architecture was, I couldn't blame them, really.
