I am.  I wish it just got locked up without any notice or fanfare.

I am very much off the grid as far as any trading or transactions are concerned. Just my 'Net connection and cable box at most, in true self-proclaimed postAmish fashion. "Think about it seriously, you know it makes sense.."

Implant hit me so, so hard. Like in the interview Boliver posted, KJ talk about shit most mundane bands aren’t even capable of wrapping their heads around. All US passports are micro-chipped now. And the UK is the most surveilled country ever. I wonder what future artificial intelligences are going to be able to derive about us from what we’ve said, bought, and posted online. I have a feeling it’s going to be uncannily accurate. The entire gathering is archived online…I wonder, can we get that canned? Anyone else keen on that? Just that Bongo’s made some drunk posts I’m sure he’s ashamed of *wink*

Jaz pointed out in an interview (in one of those hard rock mags) that Implant was in 5/4 time (like that jazz tune "Take 5", but very unusual for a time signature).

Interesting observation. I wonder if techno can be considered urban folk in its homeland ( Detroit ? Germany ?)
And, whoever said if it's amplified and loud it can't be "grassroots"?

I think maybe the song Implant (the combo of lyrics/sound/style/overall impact) was a different
take on their sound(?); I can't think of any close parallels in their previous work.

Britain has no tradition of folk? Nonsense, especially if you wander around  Scotland , Wales and Ireland . Punk was a 'folk' movement, imo, so was early rave.
I really like the 2k3 album, a lot, but no, the production and sounds weren't new. Jaz had maybe just discovered a lot of techniques developed through the 90s, particularly in electronic production.

Do I get burned for heresy, now?
