Haha -- funny little story. I'm surprised that KJ would "pop" in to check on Depeche Mode. "Blasphemous Rumours" indeed.

  From the Depeche Mode "Some Great Reward" CD & DVD package booklet (they're all cheap - £9 each - at HMV at the mo):

   

  "Killing  Joke were recording in another of Hansa's studios while we were there and they would pop in to see how we were doing. One day we were mixing "Blasphemous Rumours" and because it has a very dark verse and a very catchy chorus, they had a massive argument between themselves as to whether that was the right approach to take with the track. It seemed to have a big effect on them." (Daniel Miller)

   

  Well, if it had anything to do with veering away from the "Me Or You?" direction, I suppose we should be grateful.
