The Taiban are growing and on the offensive in northwest Pakistan, and 
the Pakistani government is being frighteningly capitulatory in how they 
are dealing with them. For example, the Pakistani government has 
basically ceded control of large swaths of Pakistani territory (Swat 
Valley and I think some other areas), allowing the Taliban to impose 
their own dictatorial version of strict Islamic law on civilians.

The Taliban are pushing closer to Pakistan's capital, are winning, and 
could be in control of a nuclear arsenal if they continue at this rate. 
They would probably either nuke India, or Israel, or smuggle dirty nuke 
bombs into the US and/or Europe, or all of the above.
