[kj] (OT) Police Brutality part 2

In the 70s my old man came to the rescue of two policemen who were getting
attacked at night, he ended up on the ground getting the crap kicked out of
him, won a police bravery award for it.

In the 80s he took part in an anti-apartheid rally (the anti South Africa
rugby tour of New Zealand, which the public protested against because we
didn't want to associate with an apartheid regime.) and had a cop call him a
coward because he was carrying my baby sister (!) and the cop didn't feel as
capable of attacking him.

In the 90s he was assaulted by the police who threw him off a council
property he was visiting to check the security on the stuff he had lent to
the local council, which the council disputed ownership on.

I was also present when some of my old man's friends shared a joint with a
cop. (NZ has the highest rate of cannabis convictions per population in the
world).

My little sister used to work part time at the local police station, she
said every Saturday morning there were joint roaches in the ash trays.

I reckon the cops are full of shit.

So, it was not a heart attack. It was internal bleeding that was the cause
of death..
