You attack his post for being slanted and then offer no contrary evidence
yourself. I know you're being sarcastic but recounting situations of police
brutality doesn't imply that they are all like that. Fact is, a lot are,
it's the culture with a lot of police forces.

 

Next Thursday I'm meeting up for lunch with my cousin who also lives in
Sydney, he's a cop. And Christian.

 

And I've seen police brutality first hand, I spent a night in the cells 4
years ago and saw a huge cop kick a little crim down a hallway for being
lippy.

I don't wanna make any crazy assumptions here but I'm willing to bet that
there is possibly a LITTLE BIT more to these stories than what you've
offered. Also willing to get you didn't witness either of these events.

Just last year in Boston a white college student was standing around after
the basketball championship was won. He made a wisecrack to a cop (something
like "who are going to arrest today"), the pigs jumped him and he died of
some heart condition right away. The pigs waited a while before they even
called an ambulance, so the parents sued the pigs. And after the World
Series a few years ago they shot another college student w/a pepper bullet
gun and murdered her, just for sitting on a wall outside the ballpark. I
guess being on the street after a game is also a crime and the death penalty
is punishment.

You don't think that bloke walking past the cops with his hands in his
pockets wanted to be killed do you? He wasn't provoking them, had has back
turned, looking down, walking past, with his hands in his pockets.

Dontcha just like how they're being suckered into being the
suicide-execution squad for every suicidal person out there who wants to die
by SBC, and the Po-po' so matter-of-factly carry it out every time, full
clip n' all. I've yet to hear one police comment in the news that says they
1) recognize the phenomenon, and 2) would rather do someting about it than
to un/willingly get tricked/willing walk into being an execution squad. 

 

Carrying out orders.. just doin' my job... ours is not to question why...

No common sense. No ability to think for themselves. You'd think these
traits would be prerequisites for joining up :/
And do they have to spend $32K an hour (or whatever it is) on those bloody
helicopters? Although I have go some nice recordings out of it :D 
Maybe things would get better if they actually came down, or got out of
their cars and talked with people (the ones they protect and serve) a bit?

Here in Los Angeles from what I've heard and read,  they tend to hire a lot
of former military, recon-, special forces types.  They're definitely the
first choice if the police recruiters can get 'em.
