karen let me assure you that my opinions are not based on ego so i will not get angry at whatever you say let's just agree to disagree ..and i think you'll find the 50's were as morally bankrupt as today..it just wasn't publicised ..speaking from my own experience i have learnt the hard way to exercise moral restraintand self control which has enabled me to be quite content without karnel knowledge for the last 16 years and long may it continue until i re- marry should the opportunity arise

Stephen:

(*Sigh ...* guess I just broke my word about taking away the soapbox, but what the hell -- here goes):
Because, and excuse me (as I'm sure you're not going to like what I'm going to write next), but your view has little to do with real morality, in my opinion. And no, I am NOT inferring you are immornal. But this kind of dated, hypocritical and sexist rhetoric you spout does nothing to prevent promiscuity.
That's a nice little perfect world, faux 50s scenario you mention (sex only for procreation, etc.) but it has nothing to do with reality. If were only that simple. Human nature is a very funny, complicated thing. Surely you must understand that.
For the record: No one thinks you think you are better than anyone else, and you may forward your opinons all you like. And others are free to disagree -- with our own opinions.

Have a better one,

well karen you are entitled to your opinion but how you see promoting morality and common sense draconian i don't know and secondly apart from what some on here seem to think of me i do NOT consider myself better than anyone else but WILL cotinue to forward opinions based on my own observations of the the state of the world and not on something i read or quoted by somebody else which is only thier point of view

Stephen: Sorry to read about your situation, and genuinely hope you are happy in your life today. However, forgive me if I find your views on the other subject just plain, bloody wrong, downright draconian, and have to strongly disagree.
Sade responded better than I ever could, so I'll skip from going back on my soapobox.
I assume you'll respond, and that's fine.
At any rate, take it easy.

i have no admiration for Any figurehead being it either political or religious but condoms promote promiscuity and that is how AIDS spread...nothing wrong with married partners making love and also attempting to procreate but recreational sex advances S T I 's

It is called sarcasm, Stephen. Do you normally agree with the Pope then? Is AIDs a myth?

Do you think 'God' actually told him? Or did he get all his facts from a Leeching book from the 1600s?
He looks like the Grinch in that photo.

PS: Pope Benedict is anti Harry Potter, anti rock and pop music (Satan worship) and has banned guitars from playing in any church. Which is a bit fresh from an 80-something year old virgin ex Hitler Youth, who actually looks more like Satan than most death metal band members…
