[kj] Bullshit Religion Discussion/Danish show "The Kingdom"

Hey there, Bette!

Back in April '96, I watched the entire series (some 4-plus hours) at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerue. It totally floored me -- the audience was having a great time, too. Lars von Trier is the creator; it's a brilliant piece of work.
You will *not* be disappointed -- I can assure you of that. Have fun!

Karen,
I was fascinated from the intro. I have seen the first two episodes, even watched them a second time. Love the little summation the creator (Lars von Liers?) gives at the end. A real gem I just picked up.....don't tell me the ending, I will be watching the series next weekend too!

Bette: I LOVE "The Kingdom"!
It is incredible -- bizarre, funny, spooky. Watch it -- you will be very impressed.

Cheers,

Alex, you remind me of a very funny relative of mine. He always wants to stop a troubling discussion by making an assertion that expresses his sentiments fully... then he flies out of the room before anyone can reply. Just sayin' ;)

Speaking of spirituality, has anyone seen the Danish show from 1995 called "The Kingdom"? Just started watching it and it is outrageously good!

Bette

I was a little worried what the whole Gathering forum looked like to any new
people checking it out when the subject header was "Official Site" and the thread
was nonstop Religions. Yikes. Talk about beingly wildly misrepresented.
I know for a fact Kieran Craig unsubbed about a day or so after first saying "hi."

(so, punk started as a reaction to more conventional medieval troubadour music of that time?)

Just a thought: Is anyone else as bored and/or strenuously put off by this discussion as I am? I'm not trying to be the OT police, but really -- this is boring, divisive and seemingly endless.

Maybe I'm wrong. Whatever. Religion is a fucking indefensible scourge. Let's please move on.
