[kj] The Lines

That’s the one – Crown Of Thorns, banging two bits of wood together. I’d forgotten that!
What I do remember, however, was that the singer was a fat bastad who looked like Mike Peters of the Alarm after a horrific plastic surgery disaster.
I did buy a Loud CD after I saw them play support and noticed that the CD was produced by Mr Jeremy Coleman. Hideous, hideous record.
The only thing I had against Play Dead was the fact that their drummer was called Wiff, or Whiff, or something equally shit. Still think the main guitar riff to their “Break” was Geordie-worthy, but mainly remember their KJ-supporting slots (I saw them several times headlining) as consisting of “Propaganda” and “The Tenant” played on a loop.

I was sufficiently impressed by Crown of Thorns to buy a second-hand copy of a single of theirs, called Kingdom Come, which I quite liked. With hindsight, I suspect that it was dross.

Pale Fountains and Heist at the Palais - missed them both though. I saw Crown of Thorns support them in Swindon I thought they were okay. Were they ones were the singer had two bits of wood that he kept banging or making into a cross?
