What about, 'if you don't like loud music, wear ear-muffs or get yourself a deprivision tank?'
Compromise agreed but the anti-noise brigade get it too much their own way.
Most of 'em take their insomniacal neurosis out on other people. Fuck that! - they'd complain about their neighbours farting given half the chance and they're given way too much power these days.
We've got a bonkers guy who harasses us about the dogs barking. Which is for all of ten minutes a day, collectively when they're getting tacked up for their walks. Bear in mind that he lives over a dual carriageway to us. The authorities refuse to act on his behalf as he's out-of order so because he's nuts and is so angry, he's become a vigilante. When the dogs bark, he shoots a firework rocket at the house. He also cycles around the neighbourhood calling dogs to their gates so that he grabs a megaphone and yells at them. He's even has a recording of barking which he pops into his car's boomer and drives round the block at dawn - causing all the dogs to yip so he can hammer on doors, scream and shout, pin notices on doors about noise pollution and generally whip out his loudspeaker at every opportunity.
Within reason, it's down to individual to sort out their social intolerances.

If people want to listen to loud music, then why don't try do it through headphones ?
Its very unsocial and annoying to have to listen to other peoples music .
Asking neighbors politely to turn it down is the correct procedure and if they dont comply, then violence is the way of dealing with the problem .
