I could not agree more with this statement. There is a distinct difference between even Michigan and Wisconsin. I also think there is a bizarre narcissism when I hear a bunch of Americans lamenting the dearth of intelligence in their fellow Americans, but at the same time I feel bad because well, there are many cases to validate this....like what went down this last week. But are these focused on to make us less trusting in our fellow countrymen? Dunno. With our history of anti-intellectualism and the rewards given to the greatest meglomaniacs, it is a distorted picture we are forced to view over and over and over.
