Cheers to the nth degree on your comments, Matthew! Paul is a truly cool dude -- and we are all so glad he's back in the fold.

Happy Monday,

I completely agree. I never much liked Asteroid but when they played it in Brussels with Paul it gave me goose pimples (bumps to you yanks!). He is fantastic, an integral element of the Joke, in my opinion, and a true gentleman, to boot.

IMHO, Big Paul is, was and ever will be the best Killing Joke drummer -- and one of the best drummers, period.
(But I confess I have a very strong Big Paul bias!) ; )

I know were you're coming from (and I have felt similarly on previous tours) BUT Asteroid really works well with Paul Ferguson on drums ... it's got a different groove now, it'a an amazing transformation ... funny really, the local listings had Killing Joke down as various different genres for the weekend ("veteran art rock"and ridiculously "80's goth rockers" amongst them) whilst the London LITE also had a large piece on Brazilian band CSS who were playing the Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday night - disco punk, it called them ... oh yeah ? To my knowledge, there was only one "disco punk" band playing in London at the weekend !!!----- Original Message ----- From: LONESTYLE at aol.comTo: gathering at misera.netSent: Monday, October 06, 2008 1:21 AMSubject: Re: [kj] AsteroidI personally think that song sucks! It is all ovef the place, and you are right there are stronger songs on the KJ 2003 album and sound much better.~LBIn a message dated 10/5/2008 2:05:58 PM Pacific Daylight Time, hgrey at earthlink.net writes:I am actually quite surprised they always seem to play Asteroid fromKJ2003.
