[kj] KJ in LA --

Oh yeah. To quote Iron Maiden their shows were mesmerizing, both at the
Hollywood Athletic Club and at the Palladium.
Opening with Double Dare >>>> Flat Field, with Peter's head inside a white
light-box atop a stool with the band playing all around. Peter's head was visible
in only white/black shades of light, and it kept looking outside the light-box and
within it, as if it felt trapped at times.
Daniel Ash is a fuckin' wizard, and like any good backbone (hidden and sturdy)
David and Kevin held up the night's show perfectly. Most people and reviewers
say they played better than ever in '98 than in '83.

I hardly knew them going in those 3 shows in one weekend;
i loved the band coming out.

Bauhaus might agree with their sensibilities? Do you remember much of the concert
? ;)

Those Bauhaus shows of '98 were the first time i had ever seen a goth'ish concert

where the Black Army was arriving in all sorts of luxury cars (even a Maserati, i think)

and standing in line having major post-graduate level career- and social- themed conversations, and i don't mean that at all patronizingly.

I've been in line for a lot of clubs/gigs/concerts/raves and ya just don't hear that level

of talk often in that kind of situation.

Or maybe i don't get out enough...

Yeah, I know I've mentioned this before, but I also caught one of the
Bauhaus '98 reunion shows at the Palladium and it was one of the most eye
opening concerts I've seen in decades. And I'm not just talking about the
band, but the incredibly freakish audience all gothed to the hilt on a hot
August night.
