[kj] OT- I couldn't help but to think of the West

I quite enjoyed the ride but was a bit disappointed that it didn't hurtle
down, savagely at the end.

It infers that that’s what’s due, which seems to be the case. I’m not sure
what’s happening to the property markets in the ‘States and UK but we’re
just heading into negative territory now.

I reckon that, globally, if everyone refused to pay their mortgages and rent
- it'd be a gas! For no particular political or economic reason just for a
laugh.

A) I don’t think it would never happen, B) I suppose class war /
revolution. You’re always gonna find scabs who are prepared to take payment
to kick the masses into order :-)

This one is gonna be pretty nasty though, I think. The higher it goes, the
harder it falls…the NZ sharemarket still hasn’t recovered fully from the
1987 sharemarket crash for example. And they reckon that the markets never
really corrected from the dot com crash of 2000 / 01 or whenever it was, the
money just moved into other speculative areas (sub prime…). So that one is
still waiting to hit properly. This correction is gonna be pretty painful I
think (for western economies in particular).

I am just referring to the cyclical nature of capitalism. Each decade has a
slump...certain aspects of the 1920s and early 70s were kind of on par with
now.
Don't forget that some individuals are making a shitload on oil right now,
the economy will probably get worse next quarter, and these individuals will
walk out of the 'office' with a nice fat wad.

Happy, happy, joy, joy...
