Bon Iver is not this-listy by any stretch, but indeed a beautiful and
moving record. I was intrigued on reading about it, and leery after
one review referenced early Bee Gees, in terms of the vocal harmonies.
So I confess I downloaded first, and was sold. It even made me a bit
weepy. Bee Gees really misses the point, notwithstanding the
multi-part harmony and use of falsetto voice. It has more in common
with Nick Drake and maybe Red House Painters, with a kind of enigmatic
but directly emotional appeal.
