[kj] [OT] Iran

Interesting topic. But like Bush, Sarkozy is immensely unpopular, and, from everything I've read and understand, the French most likely would not go along with such a maneuver -- and Sarkozy would probably be tossed out on his rear.

Got to love that foreign policy ...

hmm, wasn't this guy recently hanging out with Bush?
"Mr Sarkozy received a standing ovation at the Knesset Monday, where he spoke of assuming a role as a Middle East peace broker, described a nuclear Iran as "intolerable" and offered to mobilise French troops to aid Israel."

Folk devil:

Point taken. You are a sharp observer. Again, really hope you're wrong -- for the world's sake.
(And that's Americans this year must get off their apathetic asses and vote this November!)

Peace,

It is the oil addiction which makes me think they're going to try it.
Hey, let's go and spend billions on war, instead of billions on research for alternate fuels. :(

Well, none of us should be surprised about Bush's meglomania. However, all these armchair warriors need to understand one thing: Iran is NOT Iraq. It has a million-man army and will not sit there while we invade. They also threaten vital Gulf supply routes, and that would not be good for the soldiers stationed over there (or civilians, for that matter).
And if you think gas prices are insane in the U.S., just wait until we invade there.
Quite frankly, I believe that even the Bush administration will be so stupid.
(Or at least, I hope).

As it appears Bush is trying to destroy everything in his path, and reap all his presidential [corporate] rewards before he steps down, how many here think the US will invade Iran, before he leaves?
