Point taken, Greg. My comment was generalization, based on the mainstream. But yes, there were plenty of great alternative bands, whose contributions should never be forgotten.

I think the 80s were a wonderful time for GOOD music, esp. US bands like Minutemen, Black Flag, Replacements, Husker Du, Meat Puppets, Jason and the Scorchers, Pylon, the Toasters, etc. Many of these band members are still active today and all are recognized as hugely influential over the bast 25 years or so...But yeah, the mainstream stuff like what's mentioned below was horrible!

Bette, I couldn't agree with you more. The 80s were such an overrated decade ...
I'm just glad I survived them!

Dude, that would be the best if they did "Eighties". DAMN I feel like they are here STILL. I expect to turn on the set and see Ronnie and Nancy picking out their china patterns. Jaysus, I hate when little kids come up and say "that was the greatest era for music". Ah, here's a Madonna album, a Flock of Seagulls album and a Thompson Twins album. Mainstream sucked. You still had to look for treasures if you lived in Possum Ridge, AK in the USA. Sorry, rant over.
It would be wonderful if they would involve the audience more beforehand (have a webpoll to vote on five songs, but don't say which one they are going to play on a particular night for an encore) and do a very strong Raven tribute.
