"I didn't say the rest of the world, I said like other Western
industrialized nations"
I don't think it needed clarification. I highly doubt someone would
misconstrue what I said into
the US needing to be like Iran or any other non westernized state.
The US has a bit of everything from "some part of the planet". That's
what makes it unique. To
pick and choose one thing in common with some other country is quite
daft. The US is a huge melting pot.
The US does a damned fine job for it's people. Regarding public
education, the amount of money spent is
crazy. It's just sad that the money given to the educators is wasted
on shit like "taking kids to the grocery
to learn how to shop and interact with shopkeeps and shop workers".
When the US has tough tests you
have the liberal loons crying and bitching that "the tests are to
hard for the kids, we need to make it easier".
The poorly educated Americans are not due to a lack of effort. It's
due to misguided individuals who fuck
everything up. (Oh yes, and also editing or removing Mark twain books
because some things are "offensive")
Making college tests easier and allowing ppl. with lower scores
access just for the sake of it... is pathetic.
CUNY quite a few years ago was considered a diploma paper mill. The
degrees meant nothing and the schools
had no respect. They let anyone in and it damn near destroyed the
system. They decided to make the standards
higher and tougher and things have improved immensely. Although now
you have the radical left trying to bring it down
again and saying that it's not fair.
Regarding freedom of religion, there is no place as diverse as the US
and all can do as they please (within the limits of law,
so yeah, fucking a 12 year old is a no go).
Has far less better outcomes? I'd love to know on what you base this.
I'd also love to see how many countries have health care
available to as many non constituents (illegal aliens) as the US. Not
to mention how many people come to the US for special operations.
Have you read on how many hospitals have closed down because of these
ppl.? Do a quick search on hospital shutdowns in California.
It's horrific! If one needs an operation you don't have to wait 8
months to see a damn Dr.
It's not cheap and it's not perfect but it sure as hell does not
deserve the abuse it gets. When someone bitches, you know what?
Let 'em go to Cuba...
Protect and defend peoples' health? It's a capitalist system not a
socialist system. Gov't interference should be extremely limited.
Plenty of health issues are directly related to an individuals lack
of maintenance. When I have Mike Bloomberg taxing the fuck out
of a pack of cig's for the sake of "my health" that's bullshit. You
make healthcare free to everyone the entire medical system would
go to shit.
Look at the housing market and the whole subprime mess. It was
started because the gov't FORCED banks to give out loans and
mortgages to individuals who could not afford them. They wanted to be
"fair", to enable the poor folk to have houses. Well they got it and
look what happened. It wreaked havoc and caused losses across the
entire market. And those ppl. who got the loans from the bank...
Guess what. They lost their fucking houses because they never could
afford it! Not everyone will have a house, not everyone will have
a car, not everyone will have a yacht and not everyone is entitled to
everything. You work for it and hopefully get it.
When I say protect and defend it's not only militarily. They have to
protect the consumers from fraud and price gouging. They need to
allow and defend the people their right to live life as they choose.
Not allow changes to be imposed by third party entities. I can go into more
detail but I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying.
Healthcare for kids, the disabled and elderly, I support it and it is provided.
Free healthcare for everyone? Absolutely not.
Look at welfare, it used to be a free for all and people were content
to sit on their asses and do nothing.
When the laws were changed and made stricter, people had some
motivation to get up, get a job and stop
feeding of the working class like a buncha pariahs.
Large bureaucracy is no good for anyone.
You'll just end up with the committee on the committees for the
committee created to over see the committee for committees.
Best Wishes,
Me
