[kj] CRASS commercialism!

"The point is that selling a handwritten a letter from one is really hilarious since both are very anti-rock star (Chomsky is the intellectual equivalent of being anti-rock star and has said as much though in not these exact words), freely communicate with the mere peasants who write them, and are also still alive, so it is possible to still write them and probably get responses."

Well, I must ask, do you live near Mr Chomsky? He is very affluent, and a prof's pension, even from MIT, would not do this, evidement! He is flown from here to there (I recollect a flight he made two years ago from the US to Canada to give a speech in particular) on lear jets........ His book sales would not afford him this type of lifestyle. Are you having any ideas about how he accomplishes this? ;)
So, indeed, he is a rock star intellectual....and simply because he states he is not does not make it true....Bob Dylan also states he is an anti-rock star.
BTW, I am very much in agreement with Noam Chomsky about many, if not most concepts, except the one that he is a modest church mouse who never desired the spotlight. Thus, I am not the tedious "hater"; I would be delighted to see him speak. However, I do take exception to his portrayal as an elderly Che Guevara. He would not be interviewed by "60 Minutes" if he was not mainstream.....you have to have distractions in order to make your system of government work......and he is a hell of an eloquent spokesman/distraction.

My two cents
