They are in the same category of "people that are still alive" and who
are "absurdly easy to get in touch" with or get letters from. Both Penny
and Chomsky have a policy of writing most folks back who take the time
to write the, (Well, I know Chomsky officially does -- he spends 20
hours per week writing people back who write him, considers it part of
his job). Penny and other "real" DIY punk folks are the same way. Both
subscribe to a kind of anti-elitist anarchist ethos and are against
being inaccessible superstars, insulated from the public, etc.

So selling high priced letters by them on eBay is pretty absurd, like
they're Avril Lavigne or something. That's why I mention the two,
because it's especially absurd to sell a letter at a high price from any
of them hn they MAKE A POINT of answering most if not all
correspondence,an it's not like hey are dead people. Yet.
