[kj] Sex Pistols singer faces race attack claims

Apologies for getting the wrong end of your stick! I tend to see the world as a personal attack, let alone communication, so... I over-react, defensive stylee. Do I have pack status on this list? I doubt it somehow Pat! Just an outsider looking in, lol - christ, if I can't even 'fit in' on this list, bloody hell, that says it all!!!! (though it's hardly the sanctuary for open-minds that I expected it to be). More like Sanitarium ;)

Anyway, I just can't help but agree with KJ at that CND rally & I can see how infuriating it must've been to listen to all those peace-types, banging-on & on about nothing more than a dream.

When I say I'm all for equality, I realise it's totally unreachable, but it's honorouble enough for me to be all for 'the idea' of it. I'm sure you've managed to pick that up from my tirades? I'm the one in the argument pointing out that equality is untenable, everyone is different abilities-wise, genetically, etc, but essentially we're all flesh-tubes & that's one of the only things we all have in common.

I'm far more infuriated by people who *blindly* follow these (or any, I guess) rules, those who would spout "racist!" at every given opportunity, who haven't thought their dreams/ideals through, but still hold onto them.

I don't see society as 'we', though I may refer to it in that way, at times - idleness on my part. My experience is that there's no such thing as solidarity, unless there's something big going on. Then afterwards, we all seperate back off to our clans again. We, the people - ha! As if!

"If you don't know the Game, you're still part of it". That's where *I'm* coming from.

not what i said at all old boy
i never implied any utopian dream. Why do you say that? The discussion
was touching on the value of education and the the value of certain
jobs. You have imposed your model onto my comments and distorted it in
order to keep your 'status' within the group (not that i bear any ill
will from it).

My comment merely looks at perception, the value of doing what you are
doing regardless of the illusion.
the illusion is of equality. Its quite apparent that there is no
equality and yet people talk about it as if there is. That is simply
an illusion. Why live a lie?

Killing Joke were right and wrong at the CND concert when they said
you wont change anything. In terms of society, because of the reality
that the wealth is controlled by a few, change will only be deemed
useful to keep evreyone working to the best interests. They were wrong
in that you may be a slave to that game because it covers all even if
you hide in a cave in tibet, but you dont have to be mentally enslaved
or accept their values.

I for one appreciate the Doctor but i also appreciate the nurse
despite society giving them differing values. I am pleased with the
bin collector as much as i am with the school teacher. (nb White Trash
by John King is well worth the read as a novel that touches this) The
fact that the people who perpetuate the myth that all is fair and
equal are the ones paid highly, MPs Lawyers Film producers etc.

if we dont join the rat race in keeping the competition over social
status alive, then we start to live as a community again, we start to
care again. Whats utopian about that?
