That's a favourite of mine. Shows the maggots up for what they really are. Rule followers & that's all - no imagination, other than imaginative retorts to valid questions.

Fucksake, I'm raging today !

I feel your pain. It's caused a lot of complications in my family over the years. A good one to try is "how do you explain carbon dating establishing material has been decaying on the planet for several million years if the earth was created in 3200 BC or whenever it was supposed to have been in your dodgy translation?". Only attempt to address that got a "Oh, the cloud cover just before the Flood affected half-life" after the matter had been raised with some cabal of Elders somewhere or other. I'm not a slavish Dawkins acolyte, although he's very funny, but that answer just filled me with despair. Jehovah's Witnesses were also singled out for extermination in the concentration camps, which all accords with the prophecy that JWs will live in perpetual harassment and ignominy. An entire religion based on martyrdom has never convinced me. I don't think Hale Bopp is back again for while, is it?

What drew the line for me was the "No" response to "Would you donate blood to my daughter" - (and the family member in question's grand-daughter, as it happens) - "if she would otherwise die?".

Try growing up with half your family belonging to that bunch. They actually tried

to pressure me into not even believing, much less pursuing, a college education.
Lost my respect for them right there.

Heh. No, on the basis of the emotions he's inspired on that page, I really
do like him. I know it's fashionable, but I really do have no time for
people who are motivated by the handicap of fundamentalist religion. A close
relative of mine is a Jehovah's Witness, and there's nothing I enjoy
more
than a pleasant afternoon undermining their solipsistic faith.

So there's something wrong with spending all your spare time furiously
masturbating to violent internet porn now...?!

Sigh.

I've been a fan of Pat Condell for some time now, can't think of
anything
he's said that I don't agree with so far...
