Shook hands with Mick Jones last night.  Glen Matlock and Paul Cook came onstage at the end, to do Twist and Shout, and Stepping Stone.  Topper of course, joined them two weeks previously to do various Clash numbers.  Uhu...
 
My mate couldn't join me right at the front, and had to stand there at the back of the crowd, with Jim Jarmush and Damian Hurst for company.  Like you do.  Lots of people my age with wonderfully intense and gig-weary looks on their devious faces.  Great.  Oh, and Don Letts was everywhere with a video camera.  
 
Later, we had a long chat with the producer and former bass player from Gong, Mike Hewlett.  (Or Howlett, depending on your Planet, man.)  Wreckless Erics wrecked guitarist saundered up and told us how some woman at a gig asked if he was the guitarist with someone else formerly groovy.  He answered in the negative but "shagged her senseless" anyway.  West London polite conversation in its highest form.  We really needed to know that.  
 
Its on every Friday for the next 3 or so weeks.  Band on at 930 in theory but more like 1030.  "Carbon Casino" gig.
