[kj] Killing Joke 2003 or Hosannas from the Basements of hell

I still hear the anger, the indignation, that post-cerebral-mutation spark of choice&conscience** rooted in their earliest days, but i think - as *I* hear the
music- it meets resistance as it is channeled thru the methods, production,
musical styles, etc. such as electricity encounters unintentional resistance
as it travels up any given cable.

I think this is due to Jaz being overly involved in the direction of the recording.
Might even parallel his own battles with
bipolar disorder (and this is all guesswork):
just as he wants to express a genuine bit of himself but not have it come out
so "pure" and instead "PC's" [polit.crrctness.] it just enough for a given audience's
palatability, so do i think he may (knowingly or no) also have done sowith the
post-ExDAVRE(post-'90) cds.

**like the lemming that mutates conscious thought
just as all the other lemmings are leaping off the cliff
and said lemming thinks, "Hey wtf?!" =:~o and runs the other way.

Abso-fuckin-lutely. The anger comes out in the music & that's the thing that's missing with every release after Extremities - where's the rage gone? Well, of course everyone wants to be happier in life, so I'm asking for something I can't have - Jaz is older, happier/contented & not coming out of a nervous breakdown - let's sing about daisies instead !

Here, here, great reincarnation/resurrection/comeback album for the band.
It is as non-pretentiously full-on Killing Joke as they could be. A great cd.

This is it - I don't think it deserves such a dissing at all, just needs to be fucking heard properly!

Still, my fave KJ album, Extremeties doesn't get much praise on this list & it's one of my all time
greatest albums EVER.

I just wish Hosannas had been produced properly is all.

Hi Ade,

I second that!

For me, Hosannas has some great tunes (Judas Goat, Implosion, Tribal Antidote, Majestic, etc..)
I wish we could hear it on a diferent mixing and prodution!
but If I had to choose between the two, Ill go for 2003! altought theres some weak moments on it!
