Ah, so you got onto Brown anyway. This is it - Derren does such a good job of it, he'd easily
convince Rob, let alone your average numpty. But he then explains that he has no 'powers' &
people won't accept it. He's THAT good at it. The point being that he's going out of his way to
debunk the whole bunch of so-called mediums & doing a fantastic job of it!
 
Of course, some won't believe they're wrong, even when proven so. Because if there are no
strings/special effects, it MUST be god or spiritualism, etc. There can be no other explanation !!!

I've never seen anything myself, so unless I do I just can't believe it.  Maybe spiritualists get lucky now and again; probability and all that.  (Did anyone see Derren Brown at the bookies on TV the other night?)
 
I saw Derren Brown (him again) doing a John Edwards/Colin Fry type psychic thing, and he got the "channeling" spot on but admitted it was nothing to do with spirits, just his skills at reading people.
 
I'm also convinced that if the spirits could contact us, then my grandparents would have already done so.  Because they could see how much I miss them.
 
Charlatans or not, a lot of people (my other half included) get comfort from thinking they can/could contact their loved ones, or will see them again in the after-life.  Which kind of makes me wish I did believe in it.
 
I probably sound really flippant, I don't mean to.

Well, I don't know about that.

I have never hidden the fact that I have had experiences with the spirit world and others in my family too.
My Aunt has had a number of experiences and just last weekend my sister inlaw went to the spritiulaist church where she knew no-one.

Yet the medium singled her out and gave her a message from an old family friend. He even named and described her but had absolutley no knowledeg of my sister in law and our family.

There are alot of charlatans I agree, but I am totally convinced that there are people who can channel it.

I'd like to think all those nice things applied to me, but I think some people, Rat or not, could say that some of it applied to them also.
 
And I'm certainly not telepathic!  Nor into wild experiences (not anymore anyway).
 
The Leo thing is also contradictory, yes I'm loyal but I certainly don't like being centre of attention (unless I'm drunk) - I'm quite happy in the background.  Although I've had some head-turning haircuts in my youth!
 
I could probably pick aspects from all star signs etc that would fit me, which is why I don't believe in it all.  But then I'm a non-believer in general - ghosts, God, Santa...
