Stiller had a very bit part at a young age in Empire of the Sun.

I am a fan of about 50% of Stiller's works, personally. Hated Night at
the Museum, liked Something About Mary and Meet the Parents (but not the
sequel), which I think are his two best. I do like Zoolander. As one
critic noted, he either plays a supremely UN-confident man, crouching
through life awaiting the next insult or put-down (Meet the Parents), or
he plays an over-the-top arrogantly confident, yet absurd guy -- as in
his role in Dodgeball, which I kind of liked. It's the latter he also
apparently plays in Tropic Thunder.

I am starved for comedies that actually make me laugh, so I might see
Tropic Thunder. Maybe I'll try to find a way to see it without paying,
in case the dsiability put-dpwns really are gratuitous. But my
understanding is that Still and the other characetrs are unlikable jerks
anyway, very self-obsessed, so they're using the word retard is "in
character" for them, and adds to their unlikable-ness.
