My 2 pence worf'...
   
    El Compadre, on Sunset/Gardner across the street from the Guitar Center),  
  is about 10 min. closer and it avoids the 3 traffic jams on Sunset Bl. - Wilcox,
   - Highland, and - LaBrea. Nice murky-yet-clean setting.
    There's also a small public parking lot nearby but the place might be smaller 
  than the Cat&Fiddle (it's been years since I went there).   Quick uninterrupted 
  [by trafficjams] cab ride to the HOBs, too.
