You know, even though I'm an L.V. native, I basically agree with you about my hometown band. Not sure if I like Panic at the Disco, either. 
"Spangly Mormon contempt" -- now that's one I've not heard on the Killers. Very interesting ...

  Heh! Now the Killers I really hate.  It was just spangly Vegas Mormon contempt until their second LP was pre-sold as their Springsteen period. Fuck that.
