My lad had a Motorhead t shirt when he was about 5, he then progressed to a Gathering t then a Ministry Psalm 69 t and a KJ t and he is only 10 now.
I'm quite proud of the fact that a search of his mp3 player picks up Motorhead "No Sleep til" Ministry "Houses of.." , Fire Dances and Throbbing Gristle "The Endless Not"

I've always said that the only time I would ever interfere in my son's tastes would be if he
became an Aston Villa supporter. Tragically this is a real possibility since they are the
nearest team to where we now live

Actually, as I high school teacher i've noticed that many kids listen to their parent's music, or at least stuff that is influenced by it (you'd be surprised how many are into 70s classic rock type music)

No worries. I used to feel the same way. I thought it was vaguely presumptuous and overbearing to project my tastes onto my children. But then I saw a little Motorhead shirt, and I figured -- no one's taking it seriously. I don't think anyone's about to come up to my daughter and quiz her on the finer points of Lemmy's sonic oeuvre.

oops may have come across too wrong.
I meant to evoke an intelligent debate around the ethos of adorning our offspring in the opinion / taste / politics etc. of us, their parents.
Should we be using our children as a billboard for our own ideals?

shirts should be made that dissolve in an emperor fashion when in contact with cutesy shit designed to promote how "cool" parents thought they were oh so long ago.

On a more positeve note, I just got my 1 year old daughter an olive green baby shirt that says "I listen to the Clash with Daddy". Hey, it's a true statement.

i want one for my 7 month old son!!!
    where'd ya get it?
i did receive a nice little onezy for him that came from a spencer's ( the 'junior high humor gear' chain store)
it says "daddy's little squirt" with some squiggly sperm on it, his grandmother loves it. ;]
not to get carried away with the cute punk baby shit but...colesy should make some fire dances font - red with yellow print - baby shirts with " i'm a child of folly" - "now i want my way" using the fire dances single rocking horse image or something like that.
