I meant Happy?, not Seattle, which is a track on Happy?

once in LA. McGeoch had just bought a tape of whale noises, and the three of us sat in his car in an underground car park while he insisted on playing these whale noises as loud as the car stereo could go, so the sound boomed around the concrete. That was one of the few times, apart from the beginning, when PiL was
a proper band rather than just Lydon + AN Others, and I got the feeling that Lydon felt he was very lucky to have McGeoch around. His playing on PiL's album Seattle from that era was/is fantastic.

John Mcgeoch died of alcohol related ill health I believe. About 7 or 8 years back, a specialist nurse I knew was seeing him regularly at his home somewhere in Derbyshire.Absolutely gifted and sadly missed. Mark

"i did meet him on more than a few occassions"
I would have loved to have met John McGeoch. He is second to only one guitarist and we all know who he is.
Saw him play with Magazine a couple of times in half empty venues.
Never discovered what caused his death at such a young age.

"playground twist"
Top track and ecellent, as are the rest, on the Voices On The Air sessions CD.

Brian.
