Well, no charges have been made yet but strangely the couple have now flown back to the UK ... whatever they and their family say Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has said she is satisfied with the way Portuguese police have conducted the investigation, so a future extridition might not be out of the question though quite frankly the I suspect Portuguese authorities would probably be happy just to bury it all, case unproven, case closed and who could blame them. Of course, none of us really know what went on that evening and much of it all is due to the secrecy applied to such investigations in Portugal but it appears that public sympathy for the parents (as opposed to their children) is waning, and may further wane as more details come out into the public domain ...
