Was that John Lydon watching them leave in the final frame? <grin>

But - Oliver - there was loads of completely moronic and negative stuff as part of punk.? And loads of punks who thought that provided what they were doing / saying pissed off "straight society", then it was cool.? Rebel first, think later.

Plenty of bands that had lots going for them musically did indeed espouse the image that mainstream media loved to hate - e.g. The Damned ("7 years of anarchy, chaos, and destruction", "smash it up"), The Anti Nowhere League ("I Hate People", the lyrics to So What, etc), the Stranglers, etc etc.

And plenty more bands with nothing going them musically did the same!

Jamie (who never wore a swastika, but who did some other pretty stupid things)

Remember when central casting would have "punks" as street toughs in fingerless gloves, ripped jeans and baseball bats; or as background characters in police stations, getting booked while the main action was happening in the foreground.?
?
This is from that era. Great stuff.?
?

?
Of course, as I've bitched and ranted before, now the mainstream media acts as if punk was always loved and inspiring and revolutionary. Everyone was into it, and captivated and excited about it!?
?
But I think this YouTube TV clip more accurately reflects the way most people viewed punk back then.?
?
-Oliver?
