[kj] New October File vid, from upcoming LP - on second though, don't it sound like Quicksand?

Yeah, Quicksand were an awesome band. I was lucky enough to get to see them when they got back together in 1998 to tour with Deftones. I also really liked Walter's band Rival Schools which lasted from around 2000 - 2003 or so. Similiar to Quicksand. His most recent band - Walking Concert (who may or may not even be active anymore, I'm not sure) are not my cup of tea. Way to indie-rock sounding.

Jane's Addiction were LA Glam metal with dreads.

On second thought, this new October File song sounds a bit like
QUICKSAND. ANyone remember them? Early 90s post-hardcore band in the
vein of Fugazi and Seaweed, good stuff, sometimes great, for some reason
never captured as much success as they should have:

Good stuff! I often heard it weirdly said, when unknowing folks heard
Quicksand back in the day, "Hey, that sounds like Tool!" But Quicksand
had zero to do with Tool; Quicksand came out of the East Coast New York
Hardcore scene but sounded more like Fugazi w/ maybe Jane's Addiction
for vocals. Good formula for success -- but they got none. And they may
have started out before Tool, at least as early as 1990.
