The fan completely nuked my plane -- nothing left at all!

It reminds me of those annual slow-news-day stories reporting how 
technology has helped "worker productivity increase by x per cent in the 
last three decades" etc., and then they always add the caveat* "except 
with those virtually associated with Marc Phillipps."

*sometimes the caveat is just an asterisk at the bottom of a large 
table, explaining: "second column corrects for the Phillipps Effect" or 
some such thing. It's a lot of math, accounting for paper plane 
measures, vacuum balls, and various penguin bodycounts.
