I prefer Kyuss to QotSA - although they don't sound much alike IMHO

Kyuss did that Sabbath thing pretty well - although not as well as Electric
Wizard

I highly recommend Kyuss for any Queens of the Stoneage fans, it's the band
they came from, IMO a better band, not that there's anything wrong with
QOTSR. Geordie mentioned he was into Kyuss at one stage. good little
endorsement there ;)

Good album to start with would be Blues for the Red Sun.

as always, there is loads of good music out there but my favourites have to
have a bit of staying power. I really liked Interpol for a while but I got
bored after their first album, same with Queens of the Stone Age.....do
Electric Wizard count as being one of today's bands as I think they're
fantastic ? Also Circle (the Finnish band) although both of them have been
about for a while. I like a lot of the (ahem) free/wyrd/psych (or whatever
you want to call it) folk stuff around at the moment - especially Voice of
the Seven Woods.

I have to admit to having a soft spot for Lily Allen, too ;o)

Much as I love a lot of the bands on most of the top ten lists from you all,
I do get the feeling that most of the stuff is 80's music. What about
today's bands? Lately I have been listening to the Fratellies, Mika, Fall
Out Boy, Lilley Allen, Scissor Sisters etc. All fantastic stuff. May or may
not make my top ten in the future but still good. But how can anything beat
Chelsea Dagger or This Ain't a Scene? Only individual songs but not stuck in
the past like everyone seems to be. Only my current thoughts so don't flame
me too much!

I saw Pylon open for the Wonder Stuff and practically get booed off the
stage.

"Crazy" is a great song (tho' I still prefer REM's cover of it).
