The Damned also used to do Arnold Layne, and a version of Matilda Mother
has recently turned up. Naz Nomad (Damned alter-ego) also did Lucifer Sam
(great version). The song Generals has the guitar line to Lucifer Sam in it
too, and Gigolo has a total Syd rip-off intro. Er, I think that's all my
Damned/Syd connections for one day! Oh apart form them wanting Syd to
produce Music For Pleasure, but getting the drummer instead!!! Oops!
That song Nice Cup Of Tea I see more as a Sensible demo than a Damned
song... half that album is really just solo Captain stuff.
I'm intrigued by the Hangover Heartattack thing... gonna have to give that
a listen. I know Pig Champion took influences from a lot of different
places... a lot of classical stuff too apparently. Baby Lemonade is
indeed a great song!
