And he used backing tapes on-stage for much of the guitar work - something I
deem SHAMEFUL !!! Well, to say he's a supposed guitar hero anyway. Keith
Moon was wasted on them!!!

Yeah, he couldn't stick to His Generation ;) Somehow the book hasn't
surfaced yet, despite a hard drive full of 'research'.

Jaz mentions him in the online video interview on the main KJ website,
along with old Gary Glitter, (Gary Glitter, up the <rhymes with Glitter>)

Was never a Who fan myself either, fully agree with the Zeppelin comment,
or Jimi, Zappa, Beatles, Stones, Cream etc.

Townshend was the one who was looking at child porn for "researching a
book" wasn't he?

On 28/03/07, Leigh Newton <angrytomhanks at yahoo.com> wrote:

Oh right, let's not forget Townsend, who has said personally that he
should "go down in history with Sigmand Freud and Jesus" due to his
contribution to rock music. Whatever you say, old man.

I've always really liked the song Truth Hits Everybody off of the first
Police album.

FFS, Townshend has a major 4kin ego. Give me Zeppelin over Who ANY DAY.

I *like* The police. I always saw them as being of the same cannon as
Blondie, et al.

As for Sting - let's just refer to him as Stink.

[Maybe there are some very primitive mega-early demos
where the Police sound vaguely, vaguely punk, but come
on. I say: HAHAHAHA. Sting being in a punk mvoie or
two doesn't count. -B.]

During an interview on New York radio station WAXQ-FM,
Townshend said, "They're now calling The Police
'classic rock.' I don't think so. The Police are punk.
They're a punk band. They're not classic rock."

Townshend added: "You know, you've got the (Rolling)
Stones and The Who. Classic rock - finished. It's all
over after that...this is just music. It's not classic anything."
