Thats wrong man. When I watch old American movies and it say's about the
American Dream and all that,it's blatantly obvious that the corporations and
government have twisted the meaning of the American Dream from leading a
peaceful, prosperous life,to doing whatever it takes, regardless of the damage it
causes other people,to achieve maximum profit. It's sick man.And the blind
patriotism, honestly believing America is the greatest nation on the planet as they
fuck you over.Again.And to stop any offended Americans having a go,its not all
of you,and its not personal, its just where the media and government has such
a strong hold on the public they'll believe whatever they're told. And it's not
restricted to America, thats just the easiest example for me to use because
of movies and TV highlighting the faults I just mentioned.
Rant over

The US has an employer-based health care system. Basically, you have to
rely on the noblesse oblige of an employer to provide coverage, not just
for you, but for your whole family. Independent folks are free to shop
around independently and pay exorbitant costs for independent coverage,
sure, but that barely even covers basic necessities (and often with
ludicrous co-pays). For example, my girlfriend, a full-time student at
the University of Texas, who is 23, will lose coverage under her parents
next year even if she continues to be a full-time student or not. She
would have to try to find work at some retail(?) place while continuing
school to retain coverage -- and what retail/entry-level employer
provides that? It'd be deducted from her paycheck -- *IF* they provided
it. And what if she had pre-existing illnesses, which she has? Tough luck!

Awareness is a curse, the more you open your eyes the more you despise.
