played. None of them sound like a tenth rate Killing
Joke rip-off! 

AUGUSTINE LEUDAR

Augustine Leudar is an electroacoustic composer and
judo enthusiast who has an album called "Invisible
Forest." You can hear short excerpts from his music at

APRIL FOOL

Mr Leudar also plays laptop in April Fool and writes
the scores for this improvising quintet in witch I
play drone guitar and occasionally do some screaming.
We also have a drummer, a multi-instrumentalist on
acoustic guitar, melodica or electric percussion and a
vocalist who also plays amplified toy dolls. Our set
was specifically tailored to make a monkey of bLIAR
using cut ups of his speeches.
Laptopper and drummer used to play in Lobe. We are now
recording an album and plan to squat some disused
warehouses in this city to convert them into musical
installations. I think we will also be expanding to
include a violin / flute / bass guitarist.

Stalwarts of the Manchester underground Gary Kelly
(guitar) and Stuart Arnot (trumpet) are a right pair

THE SANDELLS

A tenacious trio who are psychedelic without being
whimsical as is so often the way with such bands, and
Julia Nagle who used to be in The Fall plays with
them.

MILD MAN JAN

Musical instrument inventor and melodic beatscaper
Spencer Marsden also featured on one Fall track (Mad
Men Eng Dog) but he thought MES made such a mess of it
that he asked to do another track witch he had control
of. The result "Fistful of Credits" released as a
single on Switchflicker Records was much better. He's
also played with Daniel Weaver as Mr B and Mr Q and in
Beats For Beginners, TVH-3 and Infernal Device. He
made some technoid shapes using resonating glass jars
of lager.

As for Gordon Brown of course it rhymes with down,
clown and frown, as in Gordon Brown please don't frown
even though you jest and clown suicide bombers want to
take you down!

Altogether now, sing to the tune of "Golden Brown"

Gordon Brown, hex yer Nike guns
Looks a clown, with our cash he runs
All through the blight, no need to fight
Better not clown with Gordon's frown
