Chainsaw remake *looks* really good, but I don't rank it higher than
anything
else that it tends to look like - Saw for instance - another bl00dy hype
job.
I think it totally misses the point by in no way being funny. I mean, the
Granpa character in the original is hilarious & that bit where the family is
egging him on to cave her skull in with a hammer, "Hit her Granpa!! Hit
her!!"
has me pissing myself - no such hilarity with the remake I'm afraid!

For real scares in a modern film, I always recommend 'The Last Horror
Movie'.
There are times when the makers are fucking with you so much, you're
thinking
about turning it off 'cos it's going to cross a line. But I'll not give
anything away other than it's a top film  ;)

Controversially, I think the US remake of The Grudge was excellent - creepy
fuckers!
