This is all very well but porn has aways been the easiest thing to sell on
the internet hasn't it?

The established music business is nervous about the whole digital thing, not
just this starlet, but this kind of thing has been going on for ages. The
internet is just a means of distribution that the music companies didn't get
control of on the ground floor.

Apple must be rubbing their collective hands...somehow, if someone records a
song and gets it on iTunes, it's seen as them "doing it for themselves and
playing the industry at its own game". Meanwhile Apple rake in the profits
whilst not actually having done anything.

Furthermore a producer like Li'l Jon doesn't come cheap. There's big money
at play here and, whether or not the music business loses out, big business is
still the beneficiary at the expense of the humble music buyer.

well yeah the way she went about things is a bit different then some dudes
getting together in their garage and spitting something out.
of course the established music industry has been worried for some time,
but this is an exact instance that they really didn't want to see happen- now
her song has passed justin timberlakes and could pass fergies to go #1.
Yeah Apple does win in the end- this technically would be a DIY but not a
total DIY-
The point of it all (bringing it up) was that it could start a trend in that
realm, not nec about how much $$$ is spent on production and/or apple
winning in the end..
