[kj] KJ tours, the "book", etc.

As sad as a statement it is to make, one should approach each and every rumour about forthcoming Killing Joke activity with a herculean dose of skepticism. The band (and Jaz especially) is renowned for having the best of intentions about bringing plans to fruition, but often fails to close the circle. There's more than enough evidence to support this (from GEMS OF POWER through the much ballyhooed re-releases on EMI). I suppose part of what makes Killing Joke so exciting is their dogged resistance to adhering to conventional protocol, but that's also been their undoing.

I've heard rumors about a U.S. tour as well, but I wouldn't get too excited about it until the tickers were in my hand (and *EVEN THEN* I'd be cautious). The `Joke were supposed to play SxSW last year (rumor had it). That didn't happen. When I wrote that piece on them for MTVNews back in May of `06, they were saying that they'd be touring the States by that Summer (that now being LAST summer).

I know Raven has a full schedule, but then he always does. Jaz is probably back ensconced in his classical composer mode. Geordie's probably fishing and leering at young girls.

In other news, word of Joel G's book has reached Blabbermouth. I doubt certain folks will be pleased.

Also, has anyone heard the Good, The Bad & the Queen yet? I borrowed a copy of the album off a co-worker (to rip to my iTunes). If I had to describe it in one word, that word would be: Bor....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
