well its easy to sit on a pedestal and condemn, but some of these guys
were more punk than some of the art students who wore some eye liner
and dyed their hair seeking fame that are held up as heroes by some
here. These guys were the dregs of society, abused kids who left home
rather than getting beaten up by daddy again.

Spider wasnt in the film, but the glaswegian later became famous for
appearing on a late night channel4 programme and telling how he was
abused by his 'uncles'. I first met Spider when he was a skinhead and
he came in threatening violence at a centre i was involved in where
three on that film had also been involved. Having ended up scrapping
with Spider he still hung around and i started to include him despite
peoples objection in putting on local bands. He then came out the
closet and started to tell us his story. Passed around his uncles by
his dad he was a survivor of a child of a peadophiles familly. Earnt
his money in porn movies (someone shat in his mouth once) and shagging
politicians

the guy with the rat at the end, cyril,i didnt have that much to do
with, but again his life revolved around the glue bag from the age of
13. He would have been 18 then.

Riley appearing at the end of the film but not speaking was a huge
killing joke fan and knew Jaz. He has letters and early literature
from the bands first fan club. He was really fucked up at this time
but when he came away from there i was eventually able to give him
something more productive to work with. He now lives in Australia and
is a personal trainer

How could this show how punk went wrong? It shows the reality of life
at that time in the uk
