Here's something interesting: Like Jaz, I have been to Egypt (long story).

A lot of behaviors that would be considered "gay" in the US (or maybe
the rest of the West) are not there. For example, men walking arm in arm
or holding hands as they walk together (You've probably seen the famous
pics of Bush holding hands with the Saudi royalty member in the purple
garden.) Men are more likely to hug, put arms around each other, etc.
Totally fine.

Now if you do that with women -- watch out!

My advice to people who hate that abortion is legal in the US, who hate
that we don't blend state and religion more than we do, or who hate that
women get uppity over stuff, is to go live in places where they can
where such things happen. You know, like Saudi Arabia. You like public
executions, gays being oppressed, women not having abortions? Go to
Saudi Arabia dude, it'd be your paradise!

The "love it or leave it" thing works both ways. Right wing pundits like
Bill O'Reilly whine so much about what's wrong with America -- well,
they are free to leave, too. It isn't just "liberals" or whatever that
should be on the receiving end of that tired of phrase.
