[kj] OT: Few lunatic questions

1. I've never understood why people call Killing Joke industrial. Honestly. They play drums, guitars, bass and keyboards. No one bangs on metal. Comparatively conventional instrumentation is the order of the day. They may share a bleak, apocalyptic world view with some of the "industrial" acts, but I don't see any connection beyond that.
2. KJ with a woman drummer or bass player? Sure, although I'm not sure it would necessarily fit. For better or worse, I think there's always been a prominently testosterone-centric vibe to the `Joke (who knows? Maybe that's been their undoing!) Much like, say, the early Stranglers, Killing Joke carry themselves like a gang of thugs. That's how they potray themselves and, presumably, how they live. That atmosphere of menace and the veiled threats of violence -- however ultimately childish and impractical -- seem like thoroughly male traits. I think a female in the ranks would greatly change the dynamic. I'd be curious to see/hear it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Would you settle for Raven in a dress?
