[kj] Re: comebacks / reunions

Hi Everyone Well seeing as everyones adding their favorite comebacks I'd
like to say that
The Bauhaus gigs where top form, also Dead Can Dance, at the forum which was
one of the
most amazing shows I can say I've seen. Siouxsie's Dream show was equally on
par, nad certainly
well worth the ticket price. I Saw Gang of four, at the O2 fest this year,
but there set was ruined
with a poor soundmix and felt quite sorry for them. And The Cult, the other
month was blinding.

Bands I would love to see reform.

Gaye Bikers on Acid, I hear, they are still talking to each other, and only
one of the members not sure who, is#nt keen on the idea.

Adam and The Ants, Origanle line up of course (with the exception of Marco),
but with Ant's Illness, I guess this will never happen.

And lastly, the Virgin Prunes.

there are probrably more, but these are my main three

For me, it depends on the guitar or bass I'm looking at buying.

For guitar, I might play a bit of Van Halen's "Unchained" or Ozzy's "Flying
High Again" along with just about anything off The Cult's "Electric" album
especially if I'm looking at a Les Paul. If I'm looking at a Telecaster, I
always play a bit of Brian James/Lords of the New Church stuff or some Keith
Richards shit. Big ol' hollow body Gretches are fun although I never get
that rockabilly sound like Brian Setzer gets. When I'm screwing around with
a bass, I'll start off playing the intro to Iron Maiden's "The Clarvoyant"
or the fast bass line in the tail end of "Ryme of the Ancient Mariner" along
with The Lord's "Dance With Me" and Jane's Addiction's "Addiction's Mountain
Song" as well as any number of U2 tunes that're bass-based.

Most of Geordie's riffs I don't feel comfortable playing unless I have a
shitload of effects chained up to make it sound reasonably right.

Although I fail to see what that has to do with anything, yes, I'm an
American.

Don't get me wrong, for me personally, I have equal appreciation for a guy
like Johnny Thunders as well as Ywgwie Malmsteen. There's room at both ends
of the spectrum for me to dig players of all styles and technical skill
levels. I just think you're cutting yourself off from possibly enjoying some
bands and artists by pre-defining a select set of parameters to enjoy rock
n' roll music.

> I think very few people listen to music because they have much intrest in

While I agree to a point that the average person who goes to a few concerts
and listens to typical rock n' roll has little interest in how a guitar solo
is played or what key a song is in, virtually anyone can pick up and respond
to basic songwriting and live performance craft and quality. That's why a
band like The Beatles are still so huge and a band like The Germs have such
a miniscule cult following. Just banging away tuneless noise on your
instruments with a lot of manic energy can only get you so far.

I dont have a mobile phone. I have an aversion to telephones on general . I
ve never even used a mobile phone before , let alone owned one . I ve never
used a microwave oven before either, I still dont trust them .
I have quite large hands and just hold them up to my ear , that does the
trick .

Tribal drums are so dated . So bow wow wowish . Tribal drumming hasn't stood
the test of time . Firedances seems from bygone era, although Revelations
still sound as fresh as a piece of Sushi still on the end of a fishermans
hook

My Mum used to work with one of Iron Maidens original members Mum, the
drummer i think it was. All the other quit their jobs in order to devote
their time to Iron Maiden but the quit the band in order to remain in his
job believing that they would never make it

Dont worry Fat . You will not be going to hell . There is no such place as
Heaven or Hell .
You will eventually expire and then get turned into cinders and spread in
a scenic place or buried on a cemetery . Or may even die a lonely old man
and pass away unnoticed in your house and not be discovered for three years
and will then make the front page of your local newspaper. Or you may even
drown at sea and get eaten by the fishes. Speaking of which , did you hear
about those villains recently who killed some junkie and fed him to the
pigs . Pigs leave nothing from a human carcass except bones .
