BUT, in the context of the wider world of music it is a work of astonishing
beauty and, yes, power - but you'll only get its power if you stop using
other Joke music as a frame of reference.


That's an excellent point, and can be applied to the Joke as a whole. 
They're so diverse that some of us become attached to a certain musical time 
frame. But, it makes for spirited discussions!
