Mike Watt (formerly of the Minutemen and Firehose) once told me he recorded the song "Badges" into a tape recorder while sitting on the floor at his gradma's house while she was sleeping (The song's on the "Politics of Time" album).

doesn't the fact that one is in the band killing joke and recording in the studio, in itself constitute being in a warzone?!!!

or are we now living in the new era cuddly bear version of the joke?
